After-School Programs

Our After-School Program offers one-on-one homework help, enrichment activities, meals, and certified teachers and tutors whose expertise is tailored to each student and their schools’ unique needs.

In partnership with Holy Cross Catholic High School, St. Peter’s Catholic School, and Académie Lafayette, the After-School Program operates at four sites—with more opening soon—and is ideal for students between Kindergarten and 8th grade in need of academic support outside of traditional school hours.

Upper Room After-School Program

AFTER-SCHOOL PROGRAM SCHEDULE

All After-School programs run until 6:00 pm and begin with a meal. The first hour is reserved for homework help and is followed by enrichment activities that vary by each program.

Academie Lafayette After-School Program

We provide a dedicated time and place for academic continuity.

Youth counselors and volunteer tutors provide personalized attention and one-on-one homework help in any subject, and provide a dedicated place for nurturing, stimulating, and educational experiences.

Academie Lafayette After-School Program

We offer a holistic approach to learning with enrichment activities.

Our classroom setting provides a structured, yet familiar environment where our educator’s work to identify and support our students’ educational, social, and emotional needs.

Academie Lafayette After-School Program

We make education accessible to our underserved communities.

With support from the state and partner schools, all Upper Room KC’s after-school programs are either free, subsidized, or low cost— making them accessible to all working families in our community.

FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS

All after-school sites operate Monday through Friday until 6:00 pm, giving students 15 hours per week of tutoring.

On professional development days, when schools are closed, we extend our hours to care for students of working families.

Yes. All after-school programs begin with a meal.

The first hour is reserved for homework help and is followed by enrichment activities that vary by school and program, and can include music, in partnership with Eddie Baker School of Music, French lessons, in partnership with Académie Lafayette, art, scouting, dance, sports, and more.
